Strollers batsmen blast Bohos away in towering T20 win

We made it two wins on the bounce last night at North Middlesex with a huge victory over old foes the Battersea Bohemians. Having inexplicably been put in having lost the toss on a hot, sunny evening and despite the early losses of Gus and Matt, our top order smashed their way into fifth gear – with 71 apiece for the bang-in-form Harry and Fenil, making his Strollers swansong before travelling back to India shortly. Skipper Abhik got into the act too, thumping 45 as we made our way to an immense score of 262-9 – by far our largest T20 total.
The Bohos response was immediately curtailed by the dismissal of Robin Hayley who was taken by Matt with an astonshing catch at second slip – the first of three wickets for débutant Vinay. However, opener Brearley stuck around and cashed in with a superb 72 before he holed out to Fenil from Ron. Our other Stroller making his début, Rohit S, collected the wicket of the dangerous Jamie Buller before Gus made a cameo at the end, collecting a three-fer for himself. In the end, the Bohemians closed on 177 – in itself a fine score but some 85 runs adrift. Great work, gentlemen!
