Skipper leads Strollers charge to enormous win over Erratics
posted: July 19, 2021

A splendid unbeaten century from skipper Abhik, backed up with a superb 75 from Harry (newly promoted to open the innings with his Dad) and contributions all the way down our order allowed us to post an enormous 329-6 when we took on the London Erratics yesterday. Having won the toss on a baking hot afternoon at North London CC our batsmen cashed in as we made hay whilst the sun shone, posting an imposing total of 330 for the oppo to chase.

Having lent the Erratics a couple of our own – Paul and Shayaan's Dad kindly helping out to bolster their numbers – the oppo made a respectable effort to reach the huge target, with unbeaten 50s from skipper Rivington and Marsh. But thanks to some canny spin from messrs Banerjee and Brown Snr, we kept the pressure on with regular wickets and in the end the Erratics closed on 220 ...some 110 runs shy of their target. A great win ...congratulations to all involved!
