Croxley claim the spoils to end Strollers' unbeaten start
posted: June 13, 2022

The Strollers' unbeaten start to the 2022 season finally came to an end yesterday as we were beaten by Croxley Guild after a close contest. Having won the toss we batted first and despite a flurry of cheap wickets we managed to post a respectable if not imposing 208-8 thanks mainly to Rohit (of the Singla variety) – who hit a majestic 87 before being run out – and also Connor whose early half century gave us a foundation on which to build.

After a good tea, we managed to make early inroads to dismiss Croxley's opening pair but an 80 run third wicket stand helped them right their ship although after Spencer dislodged Dalgleish our hopes rose as we knawed away at the oppo's middle order. In the end though, we simply hadn't posted quite enough and Croxley made it over the line with an over to spare.

However, it is always a competitive game at Croxley who as always were fine hosts. We look forward to meeting them again later this summer for the rematch!
