Strollers back on form to trounce Trundlers

After the disappointment of recent losses and successive cancellations, we happily returned to winning ways with a fine victory over the Tetherdown Trundlers yesterday evening at Old Camdenians.

With Harry finally (!) winning a toss, we made first use of the batting track on a fine summer evening in Mill Hill and, despite a couple of early losses, were able to pile on a very competitive 175-7 from our 20 overs. This came mainly thanks to a superb fourth wicket stand of 106 between Gaurav (43) and Viral who blasted his way in trademark fashion to a blistering 71.

The Trundlers on the other hand never found second gear in their response. Adam made early inroads to dismiss both openers with his left arm swing and only Buxton was able to settle, hitting a respectable 43 before he was undone by Gaurav. Parth gave a masterful turn behind the stumps, including a sharp stumping to see off Bonfieldh and, despite a couple of shelled deep catches late on, the oppo constantly found themselves behind the rate. When George deceived Gordon with a loopy one in the final over, we wrapped up victory by a handsome 37 run margin.

A thoroughly enjoyable game and hopefully the sign of better things to come as we look forward to our clash with the Highgate Irregulars this weekend...
