Rains, pains and awesome cream teas

With half the regular team missing due to either injury or holiday, Wednesday's T20 fixture at North Middlesex saw a patchwork side take the field for an engrossing match comprising an unholy yet good humoured alliance between the Strollers and an assortment of ringers from the Bohemians who together took on newfound oppo, the splendidly 'in the pink' VCC.

Despite vice skipper Paul Bowstead winning the toss and batting first, the coalition of the willing crumbled fast with only Graeme Holmes and James Kelly contributing anything of note as the side was skittled for a paltry 102 all out.

However, a surprisingly keen effort in the field made the going very tough for the VCC batsmen, under pressure from excellent spells by Tom Harvey (11-2) and Aiden Kelly (29-1) who also took a sensational low catch early on. But alas the total was too low and the VCC crept past their target with 9 balls to spare.
