Strollers thrash Bohemians in final evening fixture of the season
posted: August 13, 2010
The Strollers continued their run of good results in short form cricket with a decisive victory over local rivals, the Battersea Bohemians, at North London CC yesterday evening. With the game reduced to 15 overs per side due to earlier rain, George predictaby elected to bat first to benefit from the better conditions. Despite losing Harsh early, Spencer cashed in apace and piled on a towering 65, assisted by Dave (23) who also displayed a fine array of shots. Keen running cost the Strollers a couple of wickets but these were of little concern as the side posted a formidable 137-6 off their alotted overs.
In response, the Bohemians were never at the races as Graeme once again hit his straps and claimed a trio of early wickets. Excellent fielding from the whole side assisted the bowlers, each of whom troubled the batsmen. In the end, the Bohemians were only able to reach a paltry 75-7, handing the Strollers a very comfortable win in the last evening fixture of the season.
