Specialist second slip Kieron is a throwback to another
era. He plays cricket in the spirit of post-war England
- he always walks when he has nicked it and has never
been known to wind-up opposition bowlers by 'stepping
away' just as they begin their run-up.
He always has a friendly 'hello' for opposition batsman
and enjoys discussing their technique with them; always
cajoles and encourages team mates in the field and is
happy when catches are dropped off his bowling.
But most of all Kieron loves to spend his afternoons
discussing the rules of cricket with umpires whilst
he is bowling. A fine runner between the wickets, he
is perhaps best remembered for trying to run Simon out
every time they bat together, for his Strollers record
opening partnership of 226 with Toby Fildes and for
his cat-like reactions in avoiding death by a mustard
pot thrown from ten yards by the Strollers ex-quick
bowler.
