“Wacko” Jacko was first introduced to the Strollers by the Count, turning out for occasional cameos until the mid-naughties when he became a stalwart partner in a potent Strollers opening attack with fellow Stoke lad Simon Boughey. Despite occasional dalliances with the yips, as one of the fastest bowlers in the squad, Jackson remains an infuriatingly consistent wicket taker – largely because nobody, least of all the bowler himself, can predict what type of delivery he is going to send down next. An enthusiastic fielder and handy lower order bat (despite his frequent pleas to Strollers skippers to shove him up the order) Jackson was a popular choice for the vice captaincy in 2008 – and in mercurial fashion he executed the duties of the office from Belgium, having skipped the country at the prospect.
