Introduced to the Strollers via ex-'easy' colleague
George Brown, Big G opened the batting on
several occasions in 2003 with mixed results, amassing
a top score of a meagre 24 (all boundaries, mind
- Ed) and has since done little to radically improve his average. Does not subscribe to the concept of the
'quick' single. Instead prefers to wait for opportunities to
unleash his savage cover drive. Became the club's 'webmaster' in 2004 and continues to manage the club website to this day. Ascended to the captaincy in 2007 following his stint as understudy to Simon B the previous year. Remained in the top job until the end of the 2008 season having led the side through a 6 match unbeaten run before taking the Strollers to tour Ibiza ...where the undefeated streak was undone.
Most memorable non-cricketing Strollers moment:
losing his voice after a rousing "Shut Up"
at the end of the 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum medley' at
The Tharp, September 2003.
